Extraditions of foreigners from Serbia from 2017 to 2021 and the principle of non-refoulement

The aim of this project is to review the five-year practice from 2017 to 2021 of the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia in extradition proceedings from the point of view of respecting the principle of non-refoulment. The main activities of the project are aimed at collecting documentation from extradition proceedings, their detailed analysis, formulating recommendations for improving the legal framework and practice in this area, informing the domestic and international public about the results of the analysis, and organizing training for judges, public prosecutors, and attorneys at law.

The project results will be used for reporting to international human rights bodies, initiating procedures to determine responsibility for human rights violations and advocacy for the improvement of the legal framework in matters of extradition and expulsion of foreigners from the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
