The team of the Belgrade Center for Human Rights is composed of 30 people dedicated to the same goal – establishing, nurturing and developing a culture of human rights, democracy and civil society in Serbia. Lawyers, political scientists, historians, economists, experts in international law work dedicatedly to improve knowledge in the field of human rights and humanitarian law, to educate and raise citizens’ awareness of the importance and scope of the idea of human rights and individual freedoms, and to create a climate for their full appreciation. In this work, we are always inspired by the words of Vojin Dimitrijević, professor of law, founder and long-time director of the Belgrade Center for Human Rights:

“The struggle against the reign of terror must be waged by the brave and the dignified people within each community”.

From Vojin Dimitrijević book “Reign of Terror – A Study on Human Rights and State Terror,” which is just as topical today as it was when he wrote it in 1984.
