The Belgrade Center for Human Rights, with the support of the United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (UN Women), will work on improving the implementation of induced abortion procedures in Serbia.

In a period of 11 months, the Center will make recommendations as a means of advocating for the improvement of the practice and treatment of patients undergoing induced abortion in Serbia. Based on expert analysis (national and international procedures, regulations and practices of induced abortion), with recommendations for improvement of the mentioned procedure, particularly in the context of patient treatment, the Center will base its advocacy on full respect for the human rights of women and girls.

Through direct contact with girls and women in different cities of Serbia, the Center will discuss and share leaflets with all the necessary information about patient rights, with the aim of empowering this population in terms of patient rights – with a special focus on rights during the procedure of induced abortion.
