Duration of project: January 2005 – June 2006
Since 2001, “U pravu si!” has been the most appreciated guide through legal system for Serbian youth. The purpose of the “U pravu si!” project was to strengthen civil society and the development of bottom-up democracy. Until now there have been two major printed editions and several sub- and special editions of the Guide (e.g. “U pravu si!” online, “U pravu si!” on the EXIT festival), which have jointly built a very strong project identity. During 2005 third edition of the book was prepared, with completely new concept for the book. Each of the chapters is restructured, and a special care was paid to creating a strong logical line that connects different topics inside each chapter. We have searched for the best case studies to enrich and empower the content of the book, and have located, investigated and processed more than three hundred cases of civic rights/duties violations. Many topics are added; the book now opens up to issues different then those related to law regulations – but which are still of a great interest to our target group: alternative education, travel, job-searching strategies, health issues.
Also, two editions were prepared – one for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one for Montenegro. A detailed promotion plan was created, and the cooperation with the media partners has been established. We have had two extra-promotional activities – “U pravu si!” on the EXIT 2005 festival and “U pravu si!” animated TV series (2005-2006), which have, and will significantly improve the promotional impact of the project. During 2005 85.000 copies of the book were printed.
