The project ‘Out of the Box’ provided young people from different parts of Serbia with an opportunity to connect and learn through friendship, joint projects, and exchanges of ideas and visions. Active Youth for Active Minority Councils

The overall objective of this project is to contribute increasing youth participation and influence in the decision making process and work of National Minority Councils to ensure better fulfilment of minority rights. Labour Law, another test for democracy

zakon_o_radu1 copyOne of the most important laws, Labour law, soon will be substantially altered without adequate public debate. In a country where even the minimum rights provided by the Labour law have not been respected for years, and as well the unemployment is growing or stagnating, these changes would have to be in the center of interest of the expert and the general public. However, in practice, everything looks different. Mentioning of the draft law provisions are partial, inaccurate and untimely, from which it can be concluded that there is no will to develop constructive exchange of opinions. (more…)

BCLJP_5The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights has launched at the press conference its annual Report on Human Rights in Serbia 2013. Dr. Vesna Petrović, Executive Director of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, summarized the general social, political and economic conditions for the enjoyment of human rights. Ivan Protić, journalist, presented appearing of human rights as a topic in the media as well as the way they were presented (and often violated). (more…)
