On the occasion of the public debate on the proposed Working Text of the Draft Amendment of the Ministry of Justice to the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia in 2006, after holding four roundtables and deadline for submission of written proposals, a press conference was held “There is discussion on withdrawing the amendments”. The conference was organized by the Belgrade Center for Human Rights, the Association of Judges of Serbia, the Association of Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors of Serbia, the Center for Judicial Research – CEPRIS, the Association of Judicial and Prosecutorial Assistants of Serbia, the Association of Judicial Counselors of Serbia and the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM.
The conclusion is that the proposed Working text of the amendment should be withdrawn, and that completely new text, with respect to the constitutional procedure and principles of a modern constitutional democratic state, should be created.
