For the nineteen consecutive years Belgrade Centre for Human Rights is organizing School of Human Rights, named after Vojin Dimitrijevic, professor and founder of Belgrade Centre. Through the use of various methods such as lectures, workshops and panel discussions, participants had the opportunity to hear and learn about the theoretical aspects of human rights, human rights protection and to discus with eminent experts other relevant issues. Lectures were held by professors, judges, lawyers, representatives of international organizations and activists from non-governmental organizations. This school is reflection of Belgrade Centre for Human Right’s mission to engage young people and motivate them to get involved and contribute to the improvement of human rights in the community where they live and work.
This year’s Human Rights School opened with a lecture by Frank La Rue, United Nations Special Rapporteur for the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, who gave lecture about privacy, protection of journalists and hate speech.
