Members of the National Convent for the EU from the Working Group on Chapter 23, as well as numerous civil society organizations, invite the Ministry of Justice to withdraw the working text of the amendment to the Constitution. Proposed changes will not lead to creation of conditions for strengthening independence of the judiciary and autonomy of prosecutors according to the assessment of the signatories of the letter, but also a large number of professors of the constitutional law, participants of the recently held public listening in the organization of professional associations. Instead of changing the current bad solutions in the Constitution, the announced amendments represent a step backwards and will enable a much greater and more direct influence of the Government and political parties on the work of the courts and the prosecution.
