The goal of this project is to improve the integration of asylum seekers and refugees in Serbia by supporting Serbian Government in the process of including asylum seekers and refugees in education system and labor market.
When it comes to activities that will lead to the fulfillment of this aim, the project entails a study visit of BCHR’s associates and Government officials to the Netherlands which will be organized by the Dutch Council for Refugees (DCR), ne two day training and two roundtables for Serbian institutions engaged in education and labor market whereby DCR experts will show educational model and best practices for including refugees in labor market applied in the Netherlands.
The project will serve as a basis for facilitation of networking and to initiate dialog between the business sector and civil society organization about migration and asylum issues, particularly the role business community and employers could play in social integration and economical empowerment of refugees in Serbia.
The project will encompass artistic workshops and performance made jointly by Serbian youngsters and young asylum seekers/beneficiaries of international protection. These artistic activities will serve Serbian youngsters and foreigners as a platform for cross cultural exchange and it will facilitate social cohesion.
The play along with knowledge attained during the study visit, and roundtables organized for relevant stakeholders should serve as a strong advocacy tool for the proper integration of asylum seekers and refugees in the educational system.
