Deputy Director of Anti Corruption Agency
I attended the first and second Human Rights School, organized in the distant 1996 and start of 1997. The first contact and participation in the Schools were a substantial influence on my further professional orientation. I expanded my legal knowledge and was introduced to new areas of international law and human rights that had to be explored.
These schools, and later work in the Belgrade Center, have (not just professionally) allowed me to better comprehend the political and social trends in Serbia. Those were bleak times; fundamental political and civil rights were violated, European integrations seemed so far away, almost unattainable. The Human Rights School, as well as Vojin’s personal engagement, together with Vesna and Jelena, prevented me from straying professionally, politically and humanely.
I still believe in the idea of human rights and the rule of law today. I am happy to respond to the Centre’s invitations to give lectures and to participate in the Human Rights Schools. I hope that they will be continued.
